According to the Prime Minister, the key goal of such a restriction is to protect children from the negative impact that social media can have on their mental health and development. Another important goal is to raise parents' awareness of how their children use the internet and social media.
“We must ensure the safety of our children in the digital world, and this is a top priority for us as a society,” said Mette Frederiksen.
The decision to restrict social media use for children under the age of 15 once again underscores the importance of digital safety and protecting children's rights in the online space, as well as the interests of families amidst technological development.
