Expert on prices until the end of the year: what will rise and what will fall in price
According to hvylya.net: Although the wheat harvest in 2025 is stable, prices for bread will rise significantly. It is predicted that by the end of the year prices could increase by 20-25%.
According to the Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, Denys Marchuk, prices for key products in Ukraine will begin to rise from autumn. The increase in bread and dairy products is expected.
- Food inflation
- Increase in gas and electricity prices
- Wage increases at bakeries
- Cost of imported components
- Logistical costs
During the first nine months of 2025, bread prices increased by 1.5-2% monthly, except for April.
It is predicted that prices for cereals, such as buckwheat, will remain stable in the coming months. Changes are possible not earlier than winter due to the situation in the energy sector.
Currently, prices for beef and pork remain stable at a high level. The cost of poultry meat will also remain unchanged. However, an increase in production costs for meat is possible in case of problems with electricity supply.
After the end of the 'big milk season' and active exports, prices for dairy products in Ukraine may increase by 7-8% in September-November.
Prices for eggs may increase by 5-10% depending on the rise in electricity prices.
This season, vegetable prices may decrease by 30-40% due to the improved harvest of potatoes, carrots, beets, and cabbage. However, prices are expected to rise in the winter period due to storage costs.
Ukraine is facing a shortage of vegetable storage facilities, leading to significant imports of vegetables. Solving this problem through financing for farmers could reduce dependence on imports.
Earlier, the European Union opposed yet another product from Ukraine.
According to expert forecasts, prices for bread, dairy products, meat, eggs, and vegetables in Ukraine will change by the end of the year depending on various factors, such as the increase in electricity prices and imported components, as well as the harvest situation. Problems with vegetable storage facilities may lead to reduced dependence on vegetable imports, which will be one of the ways to support domestic production and stabilize prices in the market.
