Yevhen Marusiak Earns Olympic Qualification

According to Главком: Ukrainian ski jumper Yevhen Marusiak has secured a quota spot for the 2026 Winter Olympics by competing at the 2026 World Championships in Oberstdorf. Marusiak finished the individual event in 29th place. His best jump of the competition was 203.5 meters, earning him 194.1 points. After three rounds, he was positioned 17th, but a fourth jump of 151.5 meters prevented him from climbing higher in the final standings.

Marusiak's total score was 676.5 points. The world champion title was claimed by Slovenia's Domen Prevc, with Norway's Marius Lindvik taking silver and Japan's Ren Nikaido winning bronze. The World Championships will conclude on January 25th with the team event.

Ukraine's Olympic Quota Places

Ukraine secured two Olympic quota places for the 2026 Games. Yevhen Marusiak earned his by ranking 52nd in the qualification standings with 167 points. The second quota was obtained by Vitaliy Kalinichenko. This achievement means the Ukrainian team will compete in the debut 'Super Team' event at the 2026 Olympics.

Securing an Olympic quota for Yevhen Marusiak is a significant accomplishment for Ukrainian sports, as it opens new opportunities for representing the country on the international stage.
