Rutte emphasized the importance of balancing the needs of the American armed forces with support for Ukraine.
'The US must ensure that its stocks are at the necessary level for them, as they are crucial for our collective defense. At the same time, of course, we hope for flexibility - we also need to ensure that Ukraine can move forward,' stated the Secretary General of the Alliance.
Suspension of Arms Supplies
It was previously reported that the US had halted the shipment of missiles and ammunition to Ukraine due to concerns about the state of American arsenals. Later, the White House officially confirmed the suspension of missile and ammunition supplies and stated that American interests take priority.
According to journalists, in addition to PAC-3 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, the Pentagon also halted the supply of 155 mm artillery shells, GMLRS missiles for M270 MLRS and HIMARS systems, Stinger anti-tank missiles, as well as AIM-7 and Hellfire air-to-ground missiles.
Ukraine's Response and Negotiations

Later, US State Department spokesperson Tami Bruce stated that the US has not halted arms supplies to Ukraine, and the situation regarding one decision does not affect Washington's overall commitments.
On July 4, a phone conversation took place between President Zelensky and American leader Donald Trump. The parties discussed Russian airstrikes, air defense capabilities, and the situation at the front.
The news reveals the issue of the suspension of American military assistance to Ukraine and the reactions of the parties to this step.
