Incidence of ARVI in Ukraine increased by 7%: why quarantine will not be introduced
The incidence rate of ARVI among Ukrainians remains stable
Since the beginning of the new epidemic season of ARVI, which began on September 29, there have been 619,416 cases of respiratory infections in Ukraine, including flu, seasonal colds, and COVID-19. This is 6.9% more than in the previous season.
According to the Deputy General Director of the State Institution 'Public Health Center' of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danylenko, indicators from the last week indicate some optimism. In the 45th week of 2025, 108,950 people were infected with ARVI, which is 11.7% less than the previous week. This indicates a slowdown in the spread of infections.
A decrease in the number of new cases of infection over the week is a positive signal and indicates that the situation is not getting out of control.
The current situation is described as a 'pre-epidemic level', when morbidity increases according to seasonal fluctuations, but has not yet reached critical levels. Analyzing this data, it has been noted that the situation remains stable across all regions of Ukraine.
Absence of foci of increased morbidity
An important piece of news is that there are no isolated foci of increased morbidity in Ukraine that would require special attention or the introduction of local restrictions.
The main question that worries many is whether a quarantine might be introduced due to the increase in morbidity? The answer to this question is appropriate: there are currently no grounds for such radical measures. Even if the figures are slightly higher than usual, the situation has not yet reached an epidemic level, therefore restrictive measures are not needed.
Possible restrictions may be introduced locally if the situation deteriorates sharply, - explains Oleksiy Danylenko.
The duration of the epidemic season of ARVI in Ukraine covers the entire period until May. Medical professionals are urging citizens to be cautious and follow preventive measures, providing a list of recommendations.
Summary: Ukraine is observing a stable level of ARVI morbidity, with a decrease in the number of new cases over the past week. There are no isolated foci of increased morbidity, confirmed by the lack of need to introduce general restrictions or quarantine at the national level. Medical professionals urge citizens to be cautious and reinforce preventive measures to prevent the spread of infections.
