Kyiv without centers for IDPs: why the capital ignores 400 thousand displaced persons

Paradox: without a transit center in Kyiv
В столиці Україні залишаються без належної підтримки сотні тисяч вимушених переселенців.

According to hvylya.net: More than 400 thousand internally displaced persons live in Kyiv. It turns out that the capital of Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, has no centers to assist these people. At the same time, such places exist in all regional centers.

'Kyiv is the capital of the country, but there are no conditions for internally displaced persons here. Although such places exist in every regional center. More than 400 thousand IDPs live in the city - one of the highest indicators in Ukraine,' noted Oleksii Riabikin, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

Riabikin believes that Kyiv has resources to help the displaced, but is not yet using them properly. He urged the capital to create conditions for the integration of displaced persons and provide them with temporary accommodation.

Kyiv's leadership in supporting IDPs

After a meeting of the city defense council, the city authorities were tasked with developing proposals for the creation of centers for internally displaced persons. Oleksii Riabikin called on Kyiv to take responsibility for supporting the displaced, as the status of the capital requires special attention to this issue.

A significant number of internally displaced persons live in Kyiv, and the lack of centers for them in the city is a serious problem. The Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development's appeal to the capital is an important step towards improving living conditions for the displaced and their integration into the urban environment.
