The USA may take charge of monitoring the buffer zone in Ukraine: details of the plan

The USA will lead the monitoring of the buffer zone in Ukraine
Сполучені Штати планують впровадити нові ініціативи для забезпечення стабільності в прикордонних районах України.

The United States may lead the observation of the buffer zone in Ukraine, which is being established to protect the country from Russia in the context of a peace agreement. The plan includes a demilitarized zone that could be guarded by countries that are not NATO members, such as Saudi Arabia or Bangladesh. The USA intends to take a leading role in monitoring this zone, collaborating with other states.

Planners refuse to involve NATO due to Putin's stance, who perceives the Alliance's participation as a red line. Security guarantees will be based on forces from non-NATO countries and bilateral agreements between Ukraine and its allies.

Plans for the buffer zone emerged after Trump's meeting with Putin in Alaska on August 15. Although there was initially hope for further negotiations, progress stalled. However, on Thursday, a 'coalition of the willing' led by France and the United Kingdom gathered to clarify the plan. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed his country's readiness to contribute to ensuring the security of the region.

A U.S. Air Force general recommended a more active approach to ensuring security. The possibility of a $100 billion deal is also being considered, which would allow Ukraine to purchase American weapons in exchange for intellectual property rights on advanced developments.

Ukraine may have the support of the USA and other countries in creating a buffer zone to ensure security in case of a peace agreement with Russia. Plans are being developed following the unsuccessful meeting between Trump and Putin, as well as a possible $100 billion deal for purchasing American weapons in exchange for advanced technologies.
