Integrity and Compliance Program Launches
According to Мін. Економіки: Registrations are now open for a free program focused on integrity and compliance, designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses operating in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. The initiative features two practical webinars, an online course, and the chance to be selected for an advanced support track with expert guidance. Applications must be submitted by August 25, and spots are limited.
This program is delivered by the All-Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance, in partnership with Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, the State Employment Service, and the 'Made in Ukraine' offices. Two webinars are scheduled:
- The first takes place on August 27, titled 'Honest Business: New Opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises.'
- The second is set for September 3, covering 'How to Build a Trustworthy Business: First Steps Toward a Compliance System.'
Participants will learn how to turn integrity into a competitive advantage, the initial steps needed to set up a compliance framework, how international partners evaluate companies during collaboration, and what helps prepare a business to attract investment, secure grant funding, and enter new markets. The initiative is implemented by UNIC in partnership with Transparency International Ukraine and the Institute of Analytics and Advocacy (IAA) as part of the three-year project 'Public Oversight and Integrity for Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine,' with financial support from Norway (NORAD).
Why This Program Matters for Businesses
Offering a program on integrity and compliance is a vital step in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, especially amid current economic challenges. By strengthening ethical practices, entrepreneurs can improve their chances of attracting investments, obtaining grants, and accessing new markets-actions that ultimately boost regional economic development. For any business aiming to become internationally competitive, participating in such initiatives can be a game-changer.
In addition to the compliance program, there are also financial opportunities available for individuals looking to start their own businesses. Internally displaced persons can receive up to $2,600 to launch their own ventures, providing crucial support during these challenging times. This financial assistance can complement the skills and insights gained from the integrity and compliance initiative, further empowering small business owners in Western Ukraine.
