A pilot project has started in Lviv: parking fines are now visible in the mobile app

Lviv has launched a new feature - now drivers can see fines for parking violations directly in the 'Diia' mobile application. This information is provided by the director of the Department of Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council, Oleg Zabyrylo.

Lviv has become the first city in Ukraine where fines for parking violations are displayed directly in the 'Diia' mobile application. Drivers receive notifications instantly and can pay the fine online immediately, without waiting for paper rulings by mail.

According to Oleg Zabyrylo, this integration became possible thanks to the cooperation of the city council, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and technical partners who tested the connection with the parking inspectors' system for several months. The automation of the procedure will allow the city to save money, which will be used for the development of road infrastructure.

Important tips for drivers and plans for expansion

Experts recommend that drivers regularly check the app, even if there is no paper notice on the windshield. The entry of the fine into the 'Diia' application indicates that the ruling has come into effect, and ignoring this may lead to doubling the amount due to penalties.

After a successful launch in Lviv, the Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to spread digital fines to other cities in Ukraine. Kyiv and Dnipro are already preparing to connect to this service.

The pilot project in Lviv, which allows drivers to see parking fines in the mobile app, is the first in Ukraine. The expansion of this program to other cities is planned, which will contribute to more effective control over violations of parking rules and will promote the development of road infrastructure.
