“2026 will be the year of the king's return. I have stepped aside a bit, but now I'm back in the game. I'm 37 years old and ready to fight again. There's nothing better than hitting guys in the face and getting paid for it,”
Fury said.
Records and Plans of Oleksandr Usyk
Fury has repeatedly announced his retirement from boxing, notably in November 2013, July 2017, April 2022, and January 2025. His last two matches against Oleksandr Usyk in May and December 2024 ended in defeats for him. Usyk, on the other hand, boasts an impressive record of 24 wins without a loss, with 15 of those victories achieved by knockout. Usyk's last fight took place in May 2025, where he claimed the title of undisputed world champion in a match against Daniel Dubois, but later vacated the WBO title and lost his status as the undisputed champion.
Oleksandr Usyk expressed his thoughts on future fights, stating:
“I think another two or three fights.”
He also expressed his desire to have a match with Deontay Wilder, calling him 'a former world champion, well-known and a very strong boxer,' and emphasized that Wilder is one of the best in the heavyweight category over the past decade.
Thus, both boxers continue to remain under the spotlight of boxing fans, promising exciting matches in the near future.
Tyson Fury's and Oleksandr Usyk's plans indicate that both boxers, despite being at different stages of their careers, remain active participants in the boxing scene. Their verbal announcements about returns and plans for future fights may serve as a basis for new competitions in heavyweight boxing. Furthermore, a potential fight between Usyk and Wilder could generate significant interest among fans, considering their achievements and reputation in the boxing world.
