The Rolling Stones' Album 'Foreign Tongues'

According to Главком: The Rolling Stones have released their 25th studio album, titled 'Foreign Tongues'. The record features 14 tracks, including 12 original songs and two covers. The covers are Amy Winehouse's 'You Know I'm No Good' and Chuck Berry's 'Beautiful Delilah'. The album was recorded by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood at London's Metropolis Studios.

Guest Musicians and Album Highlights

Guest musicians on 'Foreign Tongues' include:

  • Paul McCartney
  • Robert Smith of The Cure
  • Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers

The album was produced by Andrew Watt, who also worked on the band's previous album 'Hackney Diamonds'. Notably, the track 'Hit Me In The Head' features drum parts from Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021.

The album cover was created by New York-based artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn. 'Foreign Tongues' arrives three years after 'Hackney Diamonds', which was the band's first album of original material in 18 years and won a Grammy Award. The combined age of Jagger, Richards, and Wood exceeds 240 years.

Interestingly, the first single 'Rough and Twisted' was initially released as a limited-edition vinyl under the band name The Cockroaches. Last year, The Rolling Stones canceled a European tour that was scheduled for 2026. As Mick Jagger noted,

“the punk song was ready just ten minutes after McCartney walked into the studio”

- Mick Jagger.

The release of 'Foreign Tongues' marks a major milestone not only for the band's fans but also for the wider music industry, as The Rolling Stones continue to wield influence after decades of creative output. Collaborations with legendary musicians like Paul McCartney highlight their ability to stay relevant to modern music trends while preserving their signature sound. The album also serves as a tribute to Charlie Watts, whose legacy remains etched in the band's history.
