Combatants may lose benefits in 2025: four conditions from the Pension Fund
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that combatants may lose benefits in 2025 under certain conditions. Regardless of the automatic continuation of payments, veterans may encounter situations where they will need to personally contact the agency.
According to the PFC, holders of combatant certificates continue to receive benefits without additional applications, but there are several exceptional situations. There are four circumstances when combatants must update their information: change of address, marital status, increase in the category of beneficiaries, or changes in the list of communal services. In addition, a request must be submitted annually to receive a benefit for solid fuel.
The greatest risk is for holders of new documents. Individuals with a new passport or combatant certificate have 30 days to update their information, otherwise payments may be suspended.
To update the data, one can use the PFC service centers, postal shipments, or electronic means – the fund's web portal, mobile application, or 'Diya'.
Expansion of the circle of beneficiaries
In December 2024, the government adopted resolution No. 1420, which provides additional benefits for families of combatants who are prisoners or missing. It also provides for compensation of communal services for families facing difficult life circumstances. To receive benefits, it is necessary to contact the relevant authorities with the required package of documents.
It is worth noting that there is a housing program for military personnel. Individuals entitled to receive an apartment from the state can take advantage of this service.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded combatants of the possibility of losing benefits in 2025 and the expansion of the circle of beneficiaries for military families. It was also emphasized the importance of updating data for the continuation of payments and compensations.
