Project of personalized support for veterans in Kyiv

According to Главком: Starting from January 1, 2026, a project for personalized support of veterans will be launched in the communal medical institutions of Kyiv, aimed at simplifying access to medical services. This initiative implies that each communal hospital in Kyiv will have a special coordinator whose activities are free of charge for veterans.

Conditions and responsibilities of the coordinator

Personalized support will be available for combatants and persons with disabilities due to war. To receive the service, veterans must have:

  • a veteran's certificate;
  • a signed declaration with a doctor.

The coordinator's responsibilities include:

  • consultation;
  • appointment scheduling;
  • organization of examinations;
  • patient accompaniment.

Veterans will be able to make appointments with specialists through the Helsi.me portal, phone call, or personal visit.

It is important to note that there are about 100 thousand registered veterans in Kyiv and nearly 300 thousand family members of defenders. In addition, the capital plans to increase partial compensation to 605 thousand hryvnias for the purchase of new cars for veterans with disabilities.

“The implementation of this system is a step towards creating a barrier-free medical environment,” said Tetiana Mostepan.

The introduction of the personalized support project for veterans in Kyiv is an important step towards improving medical services for this category of the population, considering their needs and the challenges they face. The initiative also emphasizes the state's commitment to supporting veterans by providing them access to quality medical services and reducing administrative barriers that may hinder their treatment. The implementation of similar programs can serve as an example for other regions of Ukraine that also seek to improve conditions for veterans and their families.
