IDPs and residents of frontline areas will receive compensation of up to 70% for mortgages
The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy has started implementing a compensation mechanism for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and residents of frontline areas under the eOselya program. According to this mechanism, the state will cover 70% of the costs for the down payment on a mortgage, 70% of monthly payments for the first year of loan repayment, and up to 40,000 hryvnias for other expenses when arranging the mortgage.Minister Sobolev explained that this program aims to alleviate the housing situation for those affected by occupation or hostilities in frontline areas. Once the issue of interaction between the Pension Fund and partner banks is resolved, state compensation will become available to recipients who meet the program's conditions.Citizens with IDP status or residents of frontline zones who do not own housing in Ukrainian territory and have not transferred any property over the past three years can take advantage of this program. If their property is located in a zone of military operations or occupation, they can also apply for compensation under the eOselya program.
