According to hvylya.net:
The head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services Oleg Popenko expressed his discontent regarding the new Cabinet resolution on the introduction of annual bonuses for high-ranking officials, explaining this by the rising prices for food products. He stated this during a broadcast with political scientist Yuri Romanenko.
Previously, high-ranking officials could receive only monthly bonuses of 30% of their salary and quarterly bonuses up to 90%, but now they have also added annual payments. 'The average salary of an official in Ukraine is 100,000 hryvnias, while an ordinary citizen has to spend 40-50% of their salary on food. Under such conditions, people have to choose between food and paying for utility services, not to mention expenses for housing rent, clothing, and transportation,' Popenko explained.
The criticism addressed to the Cabinet resolution on annual bonuses for high-ranking officials is being discussed by the public. The recent decision to expand expenditures on bonuses has caused a wave of outrage, as the living conditions of ordinary citizens in the country leave much to be desired. The disputes around the allocation of financial resources reveal the depth of the economic problems that persist in Ukrainian society.
