What are the most popular male professions for women to pursue
In Ukraine, more and more women are mastering professions that were considered 'male' until recently. Within the framework of an experimental project by the State Employment Service, 873 Ukrainian women are currently acquiring in-demand vocational professions in the labor market. The agency's press service reported on this.
How many women have already been employed after mastering male professions
The idea is simple: businesses receive trained specialists in shortage fields, while women get a chance for stable employment and financial independence. Since the beginning of the program, employers have submitted 464 job offers. Already, 416 participants have completed their training, of which 319 are officially employed. Another 457 women continue their education.
The most popular areas for women among male professions

woodworking machine operator – 286 applications,

boiler operator – 168 applications,

tractor operator – 164 applications.
There is also significant interest in professions such as forklift driver, trolleybus driver, and repair locksmith. In total, the program allows mastering 31 specialties that were previously considered strictly male but now have stable demand among employers.
In which regions have the most women mastered male professions
The leaders in terms of the number of participants are five regions: Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, and Volyn. To join the program, women or employers can submit an application online or contact the nearest employment center. The SES notes that this initiative not only helps overcome gender stereotypes but also addresses the personnel shortage in key industrial sectors.
Earlier we wrote that according to the State Employment Service, in the first eight months of 2025, employers submitted about 1.7 thousand vacancies in the information and telecommunications sector.
