Ukrainian Decarbonization Fund to Provide Portable Power Stations for Children with Disabilities
Decarbonization Fund Expands Its Scope of Support
According to Міністерство соц. політики: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new initiative to broaden the use of the Decarbonization Fund. The funds will now be used to supply portable power stations to children with disabilities in subgroup A. This critical measure is designed to protect the lives and health of children whose vital medical equipment depends on a stable electricity supply, especially during the ongoing emergency situation within the national power grid. This move addresses a critical vulnerability for families during frequent power outages caused by the war.
Funding and Implementation Plan for 2026
In 2026, the plan is to finance the procurement and delivery of portable charging stations with an approximate capacity of 2 kWh. One parent or legal guardian per eligible child will be able to receive a unit. Applications must be submitted through the territorial offices of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or via its online services portal. The procurement will be handled by the Joint-Stock Company 'Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine,' while delivery will be managed by the national postal service, JSC Ukrposhta.
This initiative represents a significant step in safeguarding and improving living conditions for children with disabilities in Ukraine, particularly amid the ongoing energy crisis. These portable power stations will ensure that essential medical devices remain operational, which can substantially enhance the quality of life for these children and their families. The expansion of the program also reflects the government's broader efforts to provide social support to vulnerable population groups during a period of immense national challenge.
