New Harvest Crashes Prices: What's Happening in Ukraine's Vegetable Markets
As of July 15, 2025, the Ukrainian vegetable market is demonstrating a massive seasonal decline in prices for most major items. According to information from 'Khvylyn', experts explain this trend by the increase in supply of early vegetables from the new harvest and the active gathering of crops by Ukrainian producers.
The most impressive price drops have been recorded for items such as young potatoes, which fell by 75%, beets decreased by 40%, new harvest onions dropped by 37%, cucumbers became 33% cheaper, and tomatoes are now 25% cheaper in wholesale trade.

Positive and Negative Dynamics
Even with positive price dynamics, many dishes cannot boast of them. Some vegetables are increasing in price; for example, sweet peppers have risen by 33%, zucchini by 20%, cauliflower has also become more expensive, while dill has shown the greatest increase at 70%.
In Kharkiv markets, positive price dynamics for vegetables are also observed. Since the beginning of June, cucumbers and tomatoes have decreased in price by 30-35%, potatoes have dropped by 60%, and cabbage costs 17-22 UAH/kg.
Forecast and Main Factors
Analysts predict further price declines for vegetables in the second decade of July. The main factors influencing prices are the increase in supply of early vegetables from the new harvest, active crop gathering by several producers, seasonal patterns of the summer period, and mass entry of Ukrainian products into the markets.
Overall, the decline in vegetable prices is typical for the summer period, although this year it began with some delay due to unfavorable weather conditions. It is worth remembering that due to poor harvests of stone fruits, significant reductions in fruit prices should not be expected.
The Ukrainian vegetable market is demonstrating a seasonal decline in prices for most types, which is related to the increase in supply of early vegetables from the new harvest and the active gathering of crops by Ukrainian producers. Further price declines are forecasted for the second decade of July.
