Life Path

Nadia Smuk was born on February 21, 1983, in the village of Vasylyv in the Zastavniv region. She received her education by graduating from a pedagogical college with a major in German language teaching. After that, she continued her studies at Chernivtsi National University, where she chose the historical faculty with a specialization in international relations. In 2013, Nadia moved to Poland, where she lived until 2019. Returning to Ukraine during the Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to join the defense of her homeland.

In July 2022, Nadia signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Throughout her military service, she carried out duties in the Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions, demonstrating professionalism and courage. Her life was cut short in the Avdiivka direction, near the village of Stepove, while carrying out a combat mission.

After the death of Nadia Smuk, she was buried in her native village of Vasylyv. Daily commemorations of the fallen soldier's memory at 9 a.m. have become a tradition for local residents who strive to honor her contribution to the fight for Ukraine's independence and remember her heroism. Nadia Smuk left a mark in the hearts of those who knew her and in the history of the country.
