Social norms for water in Ukraine: how many cubic meters per person are provided by state standards
Social norms for paying for water supply and wastewater services in Ukraine
In Ukraine, information has been provided about social norms that determine benefits for paying for water supply and wastewater services. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 06.08.2014 No. 409 'On the establishment of state social standards in the field of housing and communal services', certain volumes of water consumption are established for each individual.
- For centralized supply of cold water, 2 cubic meters per person per month is provided.
- In case hot water is not provided, the norm increases to 3.6 cubic meters per person.
- As for centralized wastewater disposal, its norm is also 3.6 cubic meters per person per month.
- In the absence of centralized wastewater disposal, a norm of 3.6 cubic meters per person per month is established for the removal of liquid waste.
- If centralized water supply is absent, the norm for the removal of liquid waste decreases to 0.76 cubic meters per person.
- With centralized supply of hot water, the norm is 1.6 cubic meters per person per month.
These norms are important for determining consumers' rights to receive benefits in the field of water supply and wastewater disposal in Ukraine.
Importance of social norms
The established social norms play a key role in ensuring the accessibility of water supply for various layers of the population, especially for those in need of financial support. Knowledge of these norms allows consumers to correctly submit applications for benefits and also control the charges for consumed services. In conditions of economic instability, such measures can become an important tool for supporting social justice in Ukraine.
