Routes of public transport in Dnipro are changing due to road closures on April 23, 2026
On April 23, temporary changes in the operation of public transport were introduced in Dnipro due to the closure of several key streets. The restrictions are related to the repair of road surfaces, tram tracks, and storm drainage systems. This was reported by the Dnipro City Council.
Transport changes in Dnipro: which routes have been closed
The most significant restrictions are in effect on Nauki Avenue - from Architect Petrov Street to Dmytro Yavornytsky Avenue. As a result, some buses and trolleybuses have changed their routes or are operating on shortened schemes.
In particular, buses No. 87B and No. 119 are detouring through Architect Petrov and Heroes of Kruty Streets. Route No. 124A has changed its movement in both directions, and No. 109K is temporarily shortened to Akademaik Lazaryan Street.
Additionally, some routes have been redirected to bypass through Oles Honchar, Hohol, and other adjacent roads to avoid the closed section.
Road closures in Dnipro: how electric transport is operating
Due to the disconnection of the contact network from 09:00 to 18:00, electric transport is operating with changes. Trolleybuses No. 9, No. 16, and No. 21 have had their routes shortened to the University of Science and Technology or the Cosmic Square.
Trolleybus routes "A" and "B" have been combined, and trams No. 1 and No. 5 are operating on changed schemes. In particular, route No. 1 has been split into two directions:
-
No. 1-K: Railway Station - Central Street;
-
No. 1/7: ring route without going to the University of Science and Technology.
Moreover, due to the track repair, tram No. 16 has suspended operations, and buses No. 18, No. 55, and No. 151A are detouring.
Some changes also affected the central part of the city. Due to work on Prince Volodymyr the Great Street, part of the trolleybuses have been combined or shortened, and the terminal stops of several buses have been moved to other locations, including Uspenska Square and Volodymyr Monomakh Street.
The city authorities note that all other routes are operating normally according to the workday schedule.
It should be noted that Russian troops continue attacks on Ukrainian territories, including the Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhzhia. In Dnipropetrovsk region, on April 22, two areas were shelled more than 20 times using artillery and drones. Attacks occurred on the city of Dnipro, where as a result of the shelling fires broke out, and residential buildings and vehicles were damaged.
