Kyiv to Host Agricultural Markets on February 21-22: Locations and Market Insights
Agricultural Food Markets in Kyiv
According to Главком: Kyiv will host a series of agricultural food markets across several city districts on February 21 and 22, 2026. These events offer residents a chance to buy fresh produce directly and support local Ukrainian farmers. Such markets are a popular feature in many European cities, providing a direct link between producers and consumers.
Market Locations by District
The markets are scheduled for the following locations on February 21:
- Holosiivskyi District – on Pankivska Street (between Saksahanskoho and Zhylianska Streets), and at 4-10 Holosiivska Street;
- Darnytskyi District – on Revutskoho Street;
- Desnianskyi District – on Mykoly Zakrevskoho Street (between Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue, 2-A and Ronald Reagan Street);
- Dniprovskyi District – on Vsevoloda Nestaika Street (near the Livoberezhnyi post office);
- Podilskyi District – on Stepan Bandera Avenue (near Kurenivskyi Park);
- Solomianskyi District – at 42 Akademika Shalimova Street (between Mykhaila Dontsia and Akademika Biletskoho Streets);
- Shevchenkivskyi District – at 7-11 Bohdana Havrylyshyna Street.
On February 22, the markets will operate at these sites:
- Holosiivskyi District – on Samiila Kishky Street (between Yuliia Zdanovska and Vasylia Kasiiana Streets);
- Darnytskyi District – at 4 Zdolbunivska Street;
- Dniprovskyi District – on Ihoria Yukhnovskoho Street (between Raiduzhna and Starosilska Streets);
- Pecherskyi District – on John McCain Street (between Ioanna Pavla II and Dmytra Doroshenka Streets);
- Shevchenkivskyi District – at 32-38 Tatarska Street.
These events come at a time of shifting prices in Ukraine's vegetable market. Currently, there is a noted price increase for greenhouse cucumbers, with the majority of supply on the domestic market being imported from Turkey. Furthermore, a prolonged period of price stability for traditional 'borscht set' vegetables has ended, and wholesale potato prices have risen sharply. In this context, the markets may serve as a vital source of affordable, fresh produce.
In addition to the temporary markets, Kyiv operates several permanent municipal markets, including:
- KP Volodymyrskyi Market at 115 Antonovycha Street;
- KP Zhytnii Market at 16 Verkhnii Val Street;
- KP Bessarabskyi Market at 2 Bessarabska Square.
The planned February 2026 markets aim to bolster local producers and ensure public access to fresh food. Amid rising vegetable costs, these initiatives represent a significant step toward stabilizing the capital's food supply. Together with the city's permanent municipal markets, they will provide consumers with expanded choices for quality products at reasonable prices.
