Attack of the Russian Federation: Khmelnytskyi and Rivne NPPs Reduced Electricity Production

The International Atomic Energy Agency stated that the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants were forced to reduce electricity production after an attack by the Russian Federation.
IAEA emphasized that the attack was aimed at a substation that is critical for the nuclear safety of both operating NPPs.
'The two operating NPPs - Khmelnytskyi and Rivne - were forced to reduce electricity production after a night attack on the substation that is crucial for nuclear safety,' the agency's statement said.
CALL TO SUPPORT NUCLEAR SAFETY
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reacted to the incident, urging 'restraint to support nuclear safety and avoid accidents with serious radiological consequences.'
Moreover, Grossi again did not name Russia as the aggressor and culprit of the attack on critical infrastructure that directly threatens nuclear safety.
After Russia's attack on the power plants, the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants of Ukraine were forced to reduce electricity production. IAEA called for support for nuclear safety and avoidance of accidents with radiological consequences, yet did not name Russia as the aggressor in this conflict.
