A Unity Network is Being Created in Ukraine: The First Centers Will Open in Europe
During the panel discussion, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine Ilona Havronska emphasized the importance of Ukrainian identity both within the country and among Ukrainian communities worldwide. Issues of civic identity as a factor influencing social processes, migration, and the common spirit of Ukrainians were discussed. The ministry is actively working to support Ukrainians abroad and helps them maintain a connection with their homeland and make informed decisions about returning.
“Ukrainian identity today is not just a passport or place of residence. It is a conscious choice to be with Ukraine, to maintain a connection, and to feel a sense of community. The Ministry of Social Policy is making efforts to ensure that Ukrainians abroad have the opportunity to maintain this connection with their homeland, have access to reliable information, and are able to make informed and conscious decisions about returning home.”
Preparation for the Opening of Unity Centers in Europe
Ilona Havronska also announced the planned creation of a network of unity for Ukrainians, which will unite initiatives of Ukrainian communities abroad. The first Unity Centers in Spain, Germany, and the Czech Republic will be operational this year.
The work on preserving Ukrainian identity in the world is taking on new realities, and the extensive network of Unity Centers in Europe will promote an even closer connection between Ukrainian communities abroad and help to preserve cultural heritage and emotional ties to the homeland.
