Ukrainian veterans will train Bundeswehr officers: details of the initiative
Ukrainian war veterans will become mentors for German officers. This information was provided by Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, inspector of the German land forces, in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, as reported by Glavkom.
Freuding believes that the unique experience of Ukrainian soldiers gained during combat cannot be replicated in training centers. Therefore, he suggests using this experience in the training of Bundeswehr officers and non-commissioned officers.
“We will never be able to recreate real combat experience. Therefore, it is important for me to consider the experience of Ukrainians significantly more in our training. I have agreed with my Ukrainian colleague that we want to invite veterans to Germany,” said Freuding.
Stating that Ukrainian servicemen will be able to share their experience in conducting defensive warfare and participate in the practical training of German soldiers, the general urged to avoid direct comparisons between the war in Ukraine and a possible conflict between Russia and NATO.
It is worth noting that veterans from the Kyiv and Transcarpathian regions visited the highest mountain in Ukraine - Hoverla, which is located at an altitude of 2061 meters above sea level.
Ukrainian veterans of the studied war will become mentors for German officers to share their unique experience and interact in the educational process.
