Early Development of Children in Ukraine

It is well known that childhood years are a special time when potential developmental issues can be identified. It is important for the family and the surrounding environment to be ready to provide support during this period.

For many Ukrainian children, identifying issues at an early age helps to uncover their abilities, while parents feel that they are surrounded by support and can cope with all the challenges they face.

The Ministry of Social Policy is committed to creating an early intervention system as a key component of the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Environment. The main goal is to provide professional and timely assistance to families who have a child at risk of developmental challenges or in need of support.

The initiative of the First Lady 'Without Barriers' extends to a project aimed at implementing the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free environment in Ukraine by 2030.

In the European Union, early childhood development has always been a priority, as strengthening support for childhood defines the country's future and shapes its social capital. In Ukraine, it will also be important to give proper attention to early development in order to provide children with the best chances of success in the future.
