From February 2026, landlords will need an NIP: what will change for Ukrainians in Poland
From February 2026, private landlords in Poland will need to have a tax identification number (NIP) and issue electronic invoices. These changes are linked to the new National Taxpayer Registration System (KSeF) for VAT payers.The new rules concerning the National Electronic Invoicing System (KSeF) will come into effect in February 2026, which may also impact private landlords. Tax experts explain that every landlord renting out an apartment is a VAT payer and may therefore require exemption from tax payments. The new rules will also apply to payers who are exempt from VAT. This situation will change with the introduction of the mandatory National Tax Information System (KSeF).It is also worth noting that in Poland, a 17-year-old Ukrainian citizen has been detained on suspicion of committing sabotage on behalf of Russian special services.
