Linguist named three words that Ukrainians mispronounce

Dovidnyk, promizhok, and nadylyshok: common mistakes with stress
Лінгвіст розкрив, які слова українці часто вимовляють неправильно.

Ukrainians often make mistakes with stress in the words 'dovidnyk', 'promizhok', and 'nadylyshok'. Linguist Olha Vasylieva emphasized that the correct pronunciation of these words differs from what is heard in ordinary speech. This was reported in the 'Language Issue' section on the 'Glavcom' website.

The philologist emphasized that in the words 'dovidnyk', 'promizhok', and 'nadylyshok', the stress is placed on the second syllable. Most people mispronounce these words: 'dovidnyk' (with stress on 'dovi'), 'promizhok' (with stress on 'mizh'), 'nadylyshok' (with stress on 'lysh').

Importance of Correct Pronunciation

Olha Vasylieva emphasized that the correct pronunciation of these words is the standard of the Ukrainian language as defined in dictionaries. Therefore, it is important to adhere to the correct pronunciation, especially in formal situations. She urged Ukrainians to check the stress in words using dictionaries to avoid common mistakes and uphold language culture.

Earlier, Olha Vasylieva explained why the use of the phrase 'graphics of disconnections' is lexically incorrect. It is an accidental transliteration from Russian and does not correspond to Ukrainian norms.

The linguist also drew attention to the mistake in the name of the popular show 'Holostyak', noting that this word is a Russification and does not correspond to modern Ukrainian norms.

It is important to adhere to the correct pronunciation of words in the Ukrainian language, which is established in dictionaries and recognized as the standard. This will help support language culture and avoid common mistakes in speech.
